Arts In Action Arts Education Grant:

The Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts is excited to announce Arts In Action Arts Education grant opportunities for teaching artists and non profit organizations with an arts education focus. Arts in Action grants support arts education projects/classes/workshops that take place in-school, after school, or in local community settings for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Grants range from $1000 to $5,000. This grant is made possible by the generous support of the Maryland State Arts Council.

Grants range from $1000 to $5,000. This grant is made possible by the generous support of the Maryland State Arts Council.

The Arts In Action Arts Education Grant : 2023-2024 Recipients

The Arts In Action Arts Education Grant supports arts education projects, classes, and/or workshops that take place in school, after school, or in local community settings for the 2023-2024 academic school year. Grants range from $1,000—5,000. This year, BOPA awarded 12 individual artists and arts organizations a total of $30,000 in educational grant funding. Those grantees are:

  • Arts Every Day
  • Baltimore Children’s Choir
  • Boys & Girls Club of Metro Baltimore
  • Capoeira Project
  • Creative Alliance
  • Fells Point Corner Theatre
  • Leaders of Tomorrow
  • Youth Center
  • Make Studio
  • Muse 360
  • Pierre Bonnet
  • Stop Our Mothers From Crying
  • Wide Angle Youth Media

The Arts In Action Arts Education Grant : 2022-2023 Recipients

The panel review team who evaluated this year’s applications includes author, curator, and social engineer Olu Butterfly; Bakari Jones, Empower Program Manager at Impact Hub; and Dr. Fadia Shaya, Professor and Executive Director School of Health at University of Maryland, Baltimore. This year, BOPA awarded 10 individual artists and arts organizations a total of $45,000 in educational grant funding. Here are the 2023 grantees:

  • Beyond Fearless Inspired by Truth, Inc.
  • Bristol Players dba Fells Point Corner Theatre
  • Dance & Bmore Programs (Maryland Philanthropy Network)

  • Rise with a Purpose, Inc.
  • Single Carrot Theatre
  • Reed Baltimore

The Arts In Action Arts Education Grant : 2021-2022 Recipients

The Arts In Action Arts Education Grant supports arts education projects, classes, and/or workshops that will take place in school, after school, or in local community settings for the 2022 spring semester. The panel review team who evaluated this year’s applications includes former Baltimore City educator and administrator Wendy Prioleau, creative entrepreneur and arts advocate Maryam Foye, and professor and researcher Fadia Shaya. Awarded grants range from $1,000–5,000. Here are the individual teaching artists and arts organizations that will receive these funds:
